| Description | retro Uploadr 2008- A954SAE is a Leyland Olympian with Roe bodywork, one of 75 Leyland Olympians purchased for operation in and around its home city. Seen in 2008 whilst operating a run to Sea Mills as part of the Harbourside rally on May 18th 2008. This Leyland Olympian was built at the Leyland (British Leyland Motor Corporation) factory in Brislington - the Leyland Olympian was designed by Leyland as a replacement for aging types using many design elements from the Leyland Titan. Leyland produced these buses at three production plants, one of which was a recent addition to the Leyland family. There were 9 Leyland B45 prototype vehicles built in late 1979 and 1980, these were followed by over 5,500 production Leyland Olympians of which A954SAE is a typical example. Leyland. |
