Description
Nederlands: In de zomer van 1958 besluit de Ministerraad de luchtverdediging van Nederlands Nieuw-Guinea te versterken tegen de Indonesische dreiging. Na radars met bijbehorend luchtmachpersoneel gaan ook Hawker Hunters en Alouette II reddingshelikopters naar het eiland Biak. Het boek ‘Koninklijke Luchtmacht in Nederlands Nieuw-Guinea’ belicht deze inzet van de luchtmacht in woord en beeld voor het eerst integraal. Plaatsvervangend Commandant Luchtstrijdkrachten generaal-majoor Emile van Duren en zijn voorganger Ton Tieland namen de eerste exemplaren in ontvangst van Casius (l.) en Schulte (r.).
