Navy Medicine West Contracts Transition from Existing Hospital to New Naval Hospital CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded a $3.6 million contract Sept. 24 to B3 Enterprise/Strategic Initial Outfitting Transition Solutions (SIOTS) based out of Woodbridge, Va. and Anchorage, Ark. to plan, schedule, and coordinate the transition and relocation of personnel and assets from existing Naval Hospital (Bldg H-100) to the new Naval Hospital (Bldg H-200). “Hospital transition planners are professionals in identifying key milestones and generating detailed move sequence plans tailored to the customer's needs,” said Lt. Cmdr. Angela M. Webster, Navy Medicine West Navy Lead Health Facility project and planning officer. “For a successful move, it is imperative to have the staff prepared well in advance to know what to expect and to be prepared for how operations may differ in the new facility. Our goal is to be ready to move as soon as the hospital is complete and the date is set.” The awarded contract to B3/SIOTS is organized in three phases. The first phase is the transition planning, move sequence scheduling, and coordination. Phase two will consist of movement/relocation of personnel, furnishings, and supplies. The final phase consists of the consolidation, coordination and physical removal of remaining furnishings and equipment from the vacated naval hospital. "With B3/SIOTS onboard one year out from the potential move, this sends a clear message that we are standing by, ready to assist,” said Webster. The Replacement Naval is currently ahead of schedule, under budget and has logged more than 1,286,412 cumulative man-hours on the project without a single lost time injury.
