| Description |
English: Prefabricated houses in Ludlow Road, Paulsgrove The estate was built as a matter of urgency in the late 1940s to house the many families left homeless by the bombing during the Second World War. Many were only pre-fabricated and were scheduled to last about 30 years. Such was the sense of community that built up in the new locality that many people refused to move out when the houses reached the end of their expected life- hence many still remain. |
