Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built in 1879, this Carpenter Gothic Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne-style house was built for Joshua C. Predmore, a Civil War Veteran who was on guard duty at the White House the night that President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, and later became a successful merchant and elected political positions in Lake Orion during the late 19th Century and early 20th Century. The house features a two-story wing with a front gable and a one-story side ell with a smaller front gable, a front door with a decorative trim surround featuring an architrave with triglyphs and a gabled awning supported by wooden brackets, decorative trim at the gable ends, one-over-one windows, a one-story bay window on the two-story wing, and decorative window trim. The house is a contributing structure in the Lake Orion Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
