Description
English: NOAA satellite imagery and MERRA-2 500 hPa geopotential heights (white contours; units: metres) of Tropical Depression 1 at 3-hourly time steps spanning from 29 May 1988 at 0000Z to 1 June 1988 at 0000Z.

Satellite data was obtained from NOAA NCEI's GridSat product (obtained from: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/gridsat/). MERRA-2 reanalysis information can be found at: https://gmao.gsfc.nasa.gov/reanalysis/MERRA-2/
