| Description |
English: I believe this is a white tailed prairie dog. Its habitat includes sand dunes stabalized by sagebrush and other vegetation. The Red Desert's high alititude sagebrush steppe provides cover to a wide range of wildlife. For instance, the burrowing owl nests and roosts underground, typically in burrows dug by prairie dogs. |
