Description

NPS/Patrick Myers 

The stories of people that make a positive difference in our world are even more touching when they have overcome great personal challenges. In the same way, when flowers bloom in the midst of barrenness and extreme conditions, they have a unique, almost sacred beauty. Prairie Sunflowers rise out of sand that can reach 150 degrees F, sometimes standing alone in a bleak environment.
