Description

As Caldas de S. Paulo localizam-se na freguesia de Penalva de Alva a cerca de 9 km da sede do concelho Oliveira do Hospital. Esta praia fluvial está sob a responsabilidade da colectividade local: Liga Recreativa Amigos das Caldas de São Paulo. Este parque dispõe de diversos equipamentos de utilização pública, nomeadamente grelhadores e mesas, que tornam o local bastante apetecível para uns picnics e churrascadas, e ainda um bar de apoio.

Para quem hoje visita as Caldas de S. Paulo, a praia fluvial é a principal atracção. No entanto, até há alguns anos atrás, esta localidade era essencialmente conhecida pelas suas águas termais (daí a denominação de Caldas). Ao fundo do parque da praia fluvial, encontra-se um poço de águas sulfurosas que foi, durante muitos anos, uma das fontes de rendimento da população desta localidade, que fazia banhos aos frequentadores das Caldas de S.
