Français : Description originale de l'image : Prétendue pluie de sang en 1608 - Au commencement du mois de juillet 1608, une prétendues pluies de sang vint à tomber dans les faubourgs d'Aix en Provence (France), et cette pluie s'étendit à une demi-lieue de la ville. Quelques prêtres de la ville, trompés, ou désireux d'exploiter la crédulité du peuple, n'hésitèrent pas à voir dans cet événement des influences sataniques.
English: Original description : Pretended rain of blood in 1608 - At the beginning of July 1608, an alleged rains of blood fell in the suburbs of Aix en Provence (France), and this rain spread half a league from the city. Some priests of the city, deceived, or eager to exploit the credulity of the people, did not hesitate to see in this event satanic influences.
