Powillimount beach between Carsethorn and Southerness is a sandy beach with rocks and numerous rock pools making this ideal for kids to explore. Popular with families and renowned for its limestone arch Thirlstane, the beach and the surrounding area boasts abundant wildlife including red squirrels, brown hares, and more rarely, otters, seals and dolphins spotted out to sea. |
