A feed of alfalfa is chopped fine andscalded, then put in troughs and used asgreen food. Arrangements are being made for hand-ling at least 50,000 baby chicks duringthe coming season, and the vitality ofthe stock makes it an easy matter toraise most of these—the loss being lessthan 5 per cent.
