[edit]DescriptionPottery of the Amorgos group, EC II, MCA, 190575.jpg |
English: Pottery of the Amorgos group, EC II, 2800-2300 BC, Keros-Syros culture. It consists of a limited number of shapes mainly of wide-mouthed vessels of gritty, reddish brown clay and relatively well fired. The most distinctive shapes are the wide-mouthed jugs (ewers), e.g. Col. no. 229 (in the middle), and the collared jar with wide mouth (no. 363), bell-shaped foot and two horizontal handles on the upper belly. Its incised decoration consists of rows of tiny hatching, usually at the base of the neck and of the back of the handles. The limited dissemination– and indeed its restriction to the southern islands (Amorgos, Keros, Thera) – and its association with shapes of the Keros-Syros phase (culture) has led to the inclusion if this pottery in the Keros-Syros phase (culture). It may well be the product of a local workshop, perhaps active towards the end of the Keros-Syros phase. Goulandris Museum of Cycladic Art, Athens.
Omezené rozšíření - vlastně omezení na jižní ostrovy (Amorgos, Keros, Théra) - a spojitost s tvary nádob fáze (kultury) Keros-Syros vedlo k zahrnutí této keramiky do fáze (kultury) Keros-Syros. |
