DescriptionPotlatch Mill, Palouse, Washington, circa 1908 - DPLA - 7b2c83f98713746d8cfe60b256c654ca.jpg | Photo postcard of the Potlatch Mill in Palouse, Washington. Postmarked on September 25, 1908. "The Potlatch Lumber Co. mill, located west of Palouse, operated until 1910, providing the lumber to build the company town of Potlatch, as well as what was then the world's largest sawmill. The Washington, Idaho and Montana Railroad built by Potlatch's parent company, Weyerhaeuser Corp. ran to the Northern Pacific Railroad in Palouse. The completion of this railroad eliminated log drives in the Palouse River." (information from an article published by the Lewiston Tribune, dated January 19, 2012). | |||||||||||
