The Syracuse Chilled Plow Company, of Syracuse, New York,in addition to their well-known line of superior plows, manufactures a specialpotato hoe illustrated in the Appendix. F. POTATOES: A MONEY CROP 31 H. The Cutaway Harrow Company, of Higganum, Conn., manu-factures a complete line of Cutaway Disk Harrows, and other implementsfor pulverizing the soil. One of their Cutaway Harrows is illustrated inthe Appendix. I. Messrs. John Watson & Co., of Houlton, Me., are the originaldesigners of Watsons Simplex Potato Sprayer, illustrated in the Appendix. The catalogues of any of the above companies will give many helpfulsuggestions in regard to potato machinery suitable for local conditions. COST OF GROWING POTATOES. The cost of growing potatoes will naturally vary with the local condi-tions. The kind of soil on which the crop is grown, the kind of machineryused, pay of laborers and many other factors have to be considered.
