Title
Pot sherd from Wickenby
Description
English:  : Pottery

Body Sherd. Medium to Coarse Sandy Ware, with mica and Greensand quartz; the presence of Greensand quartz suggests a source between the Ancholme and the western edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The internal surface is splash glazed, which is fairly unusual for an early fabric. Suggested date: Medieval, 1150-1350. This sherd was kindly identified by Wallace Collyer of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group.

Weight: 27.72gms.
