Title
postmedievalcopperalloyasymmetricalbuckle
Description
English: Complete cast copper alloy asymmetrical buckle frame dating from the post-medieval period, i.e. c AD1500-1800. The buckle frame is composed of a semi-circular and a square/trapezoidal half. The cross-section is D-shaped/almost trapezoidal and there are ornamental mouldings on each side: there are two small knops on the semi-circular side while the trapezoidal half has moulded decoration on the vertical bar. There is no pin, but it may have been made from iron and is now missing, judging from the iron staining around the central axis bar.
