Description
English: Osoblaha was almost entirely german speaking. And of course, it had been on the Austrian German border until 1918. The site of a sugar factory, which was also in turn responsible for its narrow-gauge railway connection. See also this this article in english.

Family history research reveals...ERVIN or ERWIN HERMANN RICHTER, b Lee, SE 1898. London . Father Frank Richter, Furrier, b ca 1867 Austria, d. Tynemouth 1922, mother born c 1882 also in Austria. An Edward RIchter 1821- 1898 was the chronicler of Hotzenplotz, which was largely destroyed in fighting during May 1945 between Russian and German troops. Another railway site is here The writer uses the correct term...CzSR as it was defined then. A second S for Socialist was added in 1945. In 1992 I took the last train to Osoblaha one later winter afternoon, ending in darkness and was fortunate to find a bus which returned to Krnov and civilisation with deer jumping across the road in front of it as the driver went along.

Erwin Hermann Alois Richter, b Lewisham 1898 of Market Hill, Clare, Suffolk died Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge died 20 April 1941 aged 42. Administration to Hermine Richter, widow. Living in Lee in 1901 with parents Frank b 1868 and Hermine b circa 1873. Died 1959, last address 275 Tarbock Road, Huyton, Liverpool. Brother Frederick Oliver d 1972, of Prescott, Upper St Johns Road, Burgess Hill

In the 1911 census, they are living in Elswick, Newcastle [as Richer],including Pauline b Waterloo Liverpool 1898 [m Reginald Wear Gray [1892-1948] in 1923, Newcastle, and Erwin, b Lee. note - the births of Pauline and Erwin are in adjacent quarters, i.e not siblings. Paul Julius Max Richter [d. 1904 aged 37, of Lyra Road, Waterloo, Liverpool, Graphic artist] = Charlotte Elizabeth Green [d. 1917 Northumberland] m 1893 [2] Stockton

The writer seems to be teaching in Wisbech, aged 28.
