English: Incomplete post medieval buckle, fragment of double-oval frame (>14 x 29mm), narrowed central bar projecting beyond stumps of sides with cast vine-scroll ornament, plate with cast engraved foliate decoration and trefoil terminal (31 x 15mm), pierced by two corroded iron rivets, bent and corroded copper alloy pin in slot. Cf. Whitehead (2003), no.423. c.1550-1650. |
