Title
Post medieval apothecary weight
Description
English: A fragment of a larger cast lead alloy weight or token that likely dates to the late medieval to post medieval periods (1450-1700).

The object is roughly sqaure in shape and has a rasied decoration on both sides. One faces depicts a teardrop-shaped loop with an 'X' in the centre that has four pellets in each quadrant. The oppostie face has a series of crescents and pellets arround in a seemingly random manner.

The object might have a functioned as a pan or apothecary weight which were similarly decorated with raised crosses and pellets (Biggs and Withers 2000: 51).
