Post medieval S-shaped belt hook with zoomorphic terminals
Description
English: Post medieval belt fitting; Cast copper alloy S-shaped belt hook with animal-head terminals, probably dating to the 16th or 17th century. The fitting has an animal head with moulded ears, eyes, snout and open mouth at each end. There is also a central decorative rib of small bosses with moulded, possibly foliate, decoration extending out from either side towards the terminals. The piece is quite worn and has a green patina with some traces of dark orange-brown corrosion.

Length 30.4mm, width 17.8mm, thickness 4.9mm, weight 7.01g
