Description
English: Post-medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, dating to 1580 AD. Obverse of left-facing bust with rose behind, + ELIZABETH . D . G .' ANG .' FR .' ET .' HI .' REGINA. Reverse of square shield on long-cross fourchee dividing the legend, + POSVI / DEV .' AD / IVTORE / M . MEV .' Long cross initial mark. The coin is 26.39mm in diameter, 1.07mm in thickness and 2.80g in weight.
