Description |
English: Post Medieval Composite white-metal coated circular copper alloy dress hook, end of hook and attachment loop missing. Components comprise a back plate decorated with fourteen peripheral notches, a hook soldered to, and attachment loop riveted through, the back plate, and an elaborately decorated and domed front. Ornament consists of filigree encircling the base below five annulets and in rings around six empty collets. There are also nine pellets. In the base of each collet a small off-centre perforation would have served to attach a setting. Diameter 19mm. Height 9mm. 16th century. |
