Title
Post Medieval pin (profile).
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper alloy pin. The pin head is spherical and undecorated. There is a fragment of an integral shank which is circular in section, and terminates with a broken point. There is only a trace of the patina remaining, and this is a dark green/brown colour. The shank also has patches of red copper corrosion. The head measures 9.44mm diameter, and the pin in total is 13.54mm long. It weighs 3.1g. The pin is probably of a Post Medieval date. A similar example is illustrated in Margeson (Margeson, S. 1993 Norwich Households; Medieval and Post Medieval Finds from Norwich Survey Excavations 1971-78 East Anglian Archaeology Report), No. 30 and this is dated to the 17th century. The red copper corrosion also suggests a Post Medieval date.
