Title
Post Medieval pendant
Description
English: A Cast copper alloy tear drop shaped pendant of probably Medieval or Post Medieval date. It has a broken suspension loop at the apex, and the body is drop shaped in plan and oval in section. It is decorated with two grooved bands round the top near the loop, and similar bands near the base. Beyond the lower grooves are vertical grooves coving the pendant, giving the bulbous end the appearance of a cockle shell. The pendant appears to be solid. It is probably from an ear ring or other piece of jewellery or dress and can be compared to LON-B3B593. LIN-503337 is a small bell pendant which is similar in shape and style, but is hollow to allow use as a bell.

Length: 23.8mm; Width: 6.5mm; Thickness: 5.5mm; Weight: 2.61g
