Title
Post Medieval lead alloy shoe buckle
Description
English: A Post Medieval lead alloy shoe buckle dating c. 1550-1600. Originally this buckle would have had a circular frame, however the shape has become distorted. The front surface of the frame is decoratively cast with a raised band and a beaded rabbet around the edge of the frame. The pin is missing.

The buckle is very similar to no. 82 illustrated by Egan (2005:34) which is dated c.1550 -c.1600 and it is described as being for a shoe.

Dimensions: diameter: 21.44mm; weight: 2.88g.
