Title
Post Medieval coat hook
Description
English: Part of a Post Medieval coat hook dating from the 18th or 19th century. It has a circular attachment base with an iron core, which was probably a screw to fix the hook in place on the wall. There is a collar before the base, and the stem is also circular in section. The stem is broken, but is interesting because it appears to have been miscast. It has several large voids probably formed by bubbles in the molten metal during casting. Compare NARC591 and SUSS-59F935.
