Post Medieval buckle chape
Description
English: A cast, copper-alloy, openwork, anchor-shaped chape from a Jacobian shoe buckle dating from c.1720-1790. The iron spindle supporting the three-tongued pin is intact. One tongue is complete with two broken.

A similar chape can be seen in Whitehead (2003), page 111.
