Title
Post Medieval Hooked Tag
Description
English: Post-medieval copper alloy hooked tag with trapezoidal loop and circular plate. In the centre of the plate a round hole suggests the loss of an appliqué. There is a cable moulded border and on both edges near the base a trifid knop. The top of the hook is marked by a single pellet, and lower down there is an opposed pair of lateral bifid knops. An incomplete example from North Yorkshire is very similar though considerably smaller (Read 2008, no. 362). 40 x 19.7mm. 16th century.
