Description |
English: A Post Medieval cast iron cannon ball, dating to between approximately AD 1500 and AD 1700. The item is sub-spherical, there are no obvious signs of impact damage indicating use. It is possibly intended for use in a Rabinet cannon, which had a bore of 1.5 inches (38mm). Maximum diameter of the cannon ball is 42.09mm (1.65 inches), it weighs 217g (0.48lbs). The surface is corroded and pitted, and has a rusty orange colour. |
