Title
Post Medieval Beads: 1 Glass and 2 Ceramic
Description
English: A group of three beads of probably Post Medieval to Modern date. One is glass and two are ceramic.

The smallest is light blue opaque glass. It is sub-spherical with a slightly raised band with straight sides forming a median band. This suggests it has been moulded, and indicates a Post Medieval or Modern date. The central perforation is circular and is 2.26mm in diameter. The bead is 5.71mm long and 5.86mm in diameter.

The middle sized bead is bright white ceramic. It is spherical and has a very small central perforation of about 1mm. The bead is 7.74mm long and has a diameter of 8.07mm.

The largest bead is sub-spherical and made of ceramic. It is light to mid blue in colour and swirled, and was probably made on a lathe. This was a technique used by the Wedgewood factory (of which these colours are typical) but was probably also used at other manufacturing centres. The bead is an elongated sphere, with straight sides in the centre. The central perforation is only 1.5mm in diameter. The bead is 11.14mm long, and 11.2mm in diameter.

The beads are likely to all date from about 1750 - 1900 AD.
