English: Port Carbon, Pa., resident Sgt. Matthew Zelwalk is deployed to Iraq with the 28th Combat Aviation Brigade as a member of Company A, 628th Aviation Support Battalion. Zelwalk is a motor transport operator with the truck platoon. At home, Zelwalk serves the state of Pennsylvania as a federal technician at the United States Property and Fiscal Office located at Fort Indiantown Gap, Lebanon, Pa. As a materials handler he helps track and manage the location and condition of every vehicle in the entire state for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.In his free time Zelwalk enjoys riding quads, weightlifting and spending time with his wife and two sons. To enhance his fitness program Zelwalk would like to begin training as a mixed martial arts fighter.After he returns home from deployment Zelwalk and his wife will begin looking for a new home for their family and then take their boys to Disneyland in Florida. Zelwalk will remain active by joining a local fighter's gym to begin his MMA training as well as coaching teen league baseball in Pottsville, Pa. Zelwalk plans to return to his job at Fort Indiantown Gap as well. |
