Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Post Bus, Tyndrum. Post buses are an important public transport resource in Scotland. Its amazing how something so sensible is allowed to happen, but you can ride with the post to some very remote places. Sometimes the bus is just a Landrover. Journeys can be slow, as the postman often stops off for tea at houses along the route. Tyndrum was just a hotel, a few cottages and a couple of railway stations. Having two stations was a quirk of there being a high level railway to Fort William, and a glen floor job to Oban, run by different companies. Now Tyndrum has grown to service the tourist industry with two huge hotels offering stabling to the enormous coach tour business and a selection of eating places.
