NOAA's National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Indiana hosted a display booth at the Indianapolis Air Show in August 2007. The booth was a big hit, especially on the morning of the 25th as occasional rain showers plagued the opening of the show, delaying several acts. The NWS staff had an active radar display, via laptop and projector, keeping the participants and onlookers National Weather Service personnel from Aberdeen, South Dakota have been actively involved with their community. This summer they participated in the annual Brown County Fair at the Aberdeen Fairgrounds. The booth was shared with Brown County Emergency Management and the Community Emergency Response Team. In October they hosted an Open House featuring tours and explanations of the forecast process, watches and warnings issuance, NOAA Weather Radio, electronics equipment, weather balloons, and Doppler radar. Brown County Emergency Management also participated in the event by displaying and giving tours of their Incident Command Trailer, which is available for deployment to any incident including possible devastating severe weather events.
