Description |
English: A complete copper alloy trade weight of post-medieval date. The mount is flat and discoidal with a raised rim around the upper surface. The weight is stamped with the following marks: a crowned 'EL' (for Elizabeth I), a ewer (for the London Founder's Company), and a sword (the sword of St. Paul for the City of London Guildhall). These marks date the weight to AD 1590-1603. The reverse is flat and unmarked.
