Title
Post-medieval spur
Description
English: An incomplete, copper alloy rowel spur dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1650-1750). The fragment comprises the rowel box (with one attachment side missing), one incomplete side and one break where the other side would have extended. The partially-remaining side is straight, with the terminal missing. The sides taper into the neck, which curves up slightly to the rowel box. The rowel itself is missing.

Nearby finds include a figure of eight spur terminal which matches the thickness of this object's sides (<a href="https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/991997">DENO-C1028C</a>), and a small, complete hook attachment (<a href="https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/992000">DENO-C11FC7</a>), both dating to the same period and possibly comprising pieces of the same spur set.
