Title
Post-medieval seal matrix: Georgian fob seal
Description
English: A glass-set intaglio from a Georgian fob seal. The glass is off-white and opaque and is set into a circular silver setting. The intaglio depicts a lion walking left upon an oval field. The silver setting is finely decorated with frongs and floral designs. Evidence for the missing handle remains on the back of the intaglio casing. The style and design of this intaglio and setting suggests a Georgian or later date.
