English: A complete copper alloy pipe tamper dating to the post-medieval to modern period (c. AD 1750-1900). The pipe tamper has the form of a female figure wearing a bonnet, shawl and skirts, apparently in the act of 'hitching up' or reaching into her apron, standing on a 'candlestick' base.
