Post-medieval head-dress pin.
Description
English: Bent fragment of a post-medieval silver head-dress pin or bodkin, the upper part of the rectangular-section shank, broken at both ends, the upper break across a waisted moulding. On both broad faces below the moulding there is an engraved triangular leaf-like motif, and lower down on one face at the point where the object is bent the (probably maker's) initials MG are engraved. Length more than 48mm. Width 4.8 - 4.2mm. Thickness 1.4mm. Weight 3.31g. 17th century.
