Title
Post-medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: Cast and tinned copper alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle with moulded decoration on the loops. There are four lobed knops on the outside edge of the rectangular loop with a triangular knop at either end, on each corner. There are two lobed knops at symmetrical points on the outer edge of the rounded loop, and a lobed knop at either end of the strap bar. The strap bar is covered in iron oxide, corrosion product, which represents the remains of the iron pin. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 92, No.577, which is dated c.1575-1700.
