Post-medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of suggested late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century AD date (R. Whitehead; 1996; pp. 91).

One of the two vertical sides is rounded, has a bevelled outer edge and an internal projection at the centre; the other side has a vertical inner edge, two vertical grooves and a decoratively moulded outer edge. The upper and lower sides converge towards the middle slightly. The central axis bar is of sub-circular section. The pin is missing.

The buckle measures 43.6mm long, 29.6mm wide and 3.9mm thick. The weight is 12.63g.
