Post-medieval copper alloy spectacle buckle.
Description
English: Copper alloy cast double loop oval buckels with moulded floral decoration on the loops. This type of buckle dates to c.1550-1650. It has moulded decoration at each end of the strap bar in the form of oval knops. At the end of each loop is a cinquefoil moulding. Similar examples can be seen on page 65 of Whiteheads book (2003).
