Title
Post-medieval copper-alloy possible hasp, obverse and reverse
Description
English: A copper-alloy incomplete object, probably an item for securing an item of furniture, book or dress accessory. The object has a field of openwork decoration with a heart in the centre. The field is broken to either side of the heart, but there was originally more openwork decoration at these points. At the bottom of the decorative field is a curved hook or hinge. Above the field the object has a T-shaped projection. This also appears to be broken, but was originally presumably for attachment purposes.

The heart shaped decoration suggests that this artefact dates from the post-medieval period and a date 16th or 17th century date is tentatively suggested.

The incomplete artefact measures 29.2 mm in length and 16.4 mm wide. It is 1.8 mm thick.
