Title
Post-medieval bar mount
Description
English: A cast copper alloy bar mount of probable post-medieval date (c. AD 1500-1700), composed of a sub-rectangular bar with three raised decorative sections on the face and two fixing prongs on the back.

The face of the mount consists of three oval sections: the central section is decorated with two curled, semi-circular shapes set back-to-back, while the outer sections each contain a fleur-de-lis. The areas around these motifs are filled with a bright yellow enamel. The edges of the mount curve slightly to follow the outline of the three oval sections. Centrally-placed on the edge of each short end of the mount is a small decorative projection. The back of the mount is flat and undecorated, but has two long, slightly tapering fixing prongs measuring 17.4mm and 16.6mm in length. The ends of these prongs are broken.

Length: 42.3mm, width: 12.2, thickness: 2.6mm, weight: 7.55g.
