Post-medieval asymmetrical double loop buckle
Description
English: A post-medieval copper-alloy buckle. Asymmetrical double loop buckle which probably dates from the 16th to eaerly 17th century AD. One side of the buckle is D-shaped and has an edge with a series of transverse grooves. The other half is also roughly D-shaped but is ornamented with two short concave sections, one at the top and one at the bottom, and, between these, five projecting lobes. The central bar is of semi-circular section. The pin is missing. Overall, the buckle measures 32.1mm long by 30.5mm wide and 2.1mm thick. It weighs 5.53g.
