Title
Post-medieval asymmetrical double-looped buckle frame
Description
English: A very worn and corroded cast asymmetrical double-looped buckle frame of post-medieval date. This example is incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. One loop of the buckle is D-shaped, while the other is rectangular. Any mouldings are obscured as a result of corrosion. In general the lower surface of the buckle is flat and undecorated. The edges of the upper surface are bevelled internally and externally; the latter slightly more shallowly. The buckle has corroded to a variable green colour with some areas of underlying red-brown metal showing through. One of the loops has been bent upwards slightly in profile. Similar examples can be found illustrated in Whitehead (1996, 92).
