Title
Post-medieval Double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy Double-loop asymmetrical buckle of suggested late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (R. Whitehead; 1996; pp. 92).

One side of the frame is D-shaped and the other side is trapezoidal. Extending outwards from the centre of the D-shaped side is a rounded, leaf-like protrusion, which is probably a pin rest. The buckle has been deliberately bent upwards either side of the central axis bar. Attached to the axis bar is the loop from an iron pin. The buckle's upper surfaces are angled downwards and outwards and the underside is flat.

The buckle measures 24.2mm long, 14.6mm wide and 5.9mm thick. The weight is 2.53g.
