Title
Post-medieval : Dress pin
Description
English: An incomplete silver bodkin, bent and broken off, resulting in the loss of more than half the original length together with the point. It has a rectangular section and a rectangular eye. There are engraved pairs of transverse lines defining two panels of cross hatching on both main faces. The plain area adjoining the collared-knop terminal is pierced with a round hole.

This silver bodkin dates to the 17th Century. As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. It is similar to one from Pocklington (East Riding of Yorkshire), 2007 T560.
