Description

New Orleans: Post-fire demolition of ruins of the Prytania Street Church.

Church building on Prytania Street at the uptown lake corner with Josephine Street, Uptown New Orleans, dedicated in 1901 as the "Prytania Street Presbyterian Church". In the early 2000s it housed the "Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church". It experienced moderate wind damage in Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and was vacant with incomplete repairs for the next 5 years. On the night of 7 January 2011 it was destroyed in a 6 alarm fire.
