Post-Medieval silver dress pin
Description
English: A fragment of a post-Medieval cast-silver dress pin (1600-1700). Treasure case no. 2013 T289.

The lower part is missing.

The surviving part of the shaft, bent in two places, has parallel sides and is hexagonal in cross-section. It has a terminal with small knops that has been pierced for suspension. At the opposite end there is a transverse break. Close to the terminal there are decorative parallel striations on both faces. The shaft is fractured at the bend near the terminal. At the other bend, close to the break, there is a transverse groove.


39.80mm (length); 6.08mm (width); 2.94mm (thickness). Weight: 3.51g.
